If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Independent Living Choices' Summer Transition Program is for you!
It will be an exciting summer for students ages 16-21 participating in ILC's Summer Transition Program! We will be teaching self advocacy skills, social skills and independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting and grocery shopping. Students will learn how to use the bus and what housing options are available to them. Speakers from various agencies will present on the services they provide. Field trips and hands-on learning experiences show students that transition into adulthood can be fun!
The Summer Transition Program is unique because it is reality based and is conducted in the community as well as the classroom. Students will be learning about employment, independent living, community participation, adult services and post-secondary education.
We will be accepting student applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Please have your application in by April 4th of the application year. We’re asking those interested in attending to please send a completed application with a non-refundable application fee of $20.00 and a copy of the most recent IEP. Applications are available in the application section of our website; see link below.
